Since childhood it had always been my dream to climb Everest. This year
my dream came true and on May 21st 2007 I was the tallest woman in the
world (for about 30 minutes)
Although my interest in the mountain was sparked MANY years ago now, my actual climbing career has been short. Basically in one year I went from zero experience to standing on the top of the world. And if I can do that in a year, then it just shows you anything is possible if you really want it bad enough.
Less than 100 women have climbed Everest and only a few British women have made it to the top so I feel a real sense of pride in my achievement.
I also achieved a world first on my trip. I had to have a tooth extracted at base camp - but as there weren't all the usual dentist tool available they had to use a swiss army knife and a screw driver. I am definitly hard core! Please read on...
